Spending Your August: A To-Do List for Adventuring Through the Month.

1. Set three goals for the month. Big or small, up to you.

2. Start a group text with your favorite ladies. Pep talks and memes galore!

3. Make a smoothie bowl. I had one of these on my trip last week, and now they're my new favorite thing to make!

4. Celebrate the little things. No, really. Stop and celebrate the little victories.

5. Give something a makeover. Whether you're brave enough to refinish an entire dresser or just wanna spray paint an old picture frame neon yellow, have fun with it.

6. Go wine tasting.

7. Have a facetime coffee date with your long-distant friend and catch up on summer so far.

8. Check out a yard sale.

9. Try a new workout.

10. Make some appetizers. We all know you have plenty of recipes pinned that you've never tried.

11. Browse all the cute back-to-school office supplies. It doesn't matter that you're not actually going back to school, everyone needs pretty pens and notebooks!

12. Go a few days without makeup. Your skin will thank you and you can sleep in later, so win-win, ya know?

13. Take advantage of how good (and cheap) peaches are. That's (one of) the saddest thing(s) about summer coming to an end...the peaches. Make something delicious with them.

14. Make sangria with sorbet. I'm telling you guys, I'm ruined for life. No more normal sangria for me, ever.

15. Host a dinner party.

16. Turn your phone on do not disturb. THIS IS LIFE CHANGING. I've been doing this and it's nice to be able to check my texts/phone calls throughout the day as I want, and not pick my phone up every single time it dings.

17. Go to a trivia night.

18. Set out on an adventure to find the best donuts in your city. Someone's gotta do it.

19. If that summer trip you were hoping for isn't going to happen, start planning one for the fall.

20. Organize your closet. If there are summer clothes in there you haven't worn this year, it's safe to say it's time to send them to a better home.

21. Find a Ferris wheel and take way too many pictures.

22. Go to a restaurant you've never been and order the first thing the waiter recommends.

23. Have a friend over for breakfast. Stay in your pajamas and drink coffee and eat waffles.

24. Look up consignment shops in your area. We went to several consignment shops in Virginia Beach and I got the best outfits for so cheap. Don't judge a place by what it looks like on the outside!

25. Go to the library and check out a best-seller in a genre you don't normally read.

26. Color your hair. Use this, it's what I used

27. Go to the beach. Depending on where you live, this might be the last month you have beach weather!

28. Try yoga.

29. Go for a walk at sunset.

30. Or at sunrise, with a cup of coffee in hand.

31. Spend a day going out of your way to make sure your people know you love them. Love letters, Chick-Fil-A delivery, funny texts...you know what to do.

Spending August: A To-Do List for Adventuring Through the Month.

Happy August! I already love today, because it's a brand new day in a brand new week in a brand new month. Fresh starts and clean slates all around!

So, how will you be spending your August? As always, I have a few suggestions.

1. Start using your planner! One of my favorite things about August is starting a new planner!

2. Try a coffee shop or restaurant out that's near your house. Sometimes we drive by places every day but never get around to trying them out. You might be missing out on a favorite!

3. On your next grocery trip, buy every kind of fruit you can. Summer fruit is the best, enjoy it while it's here.

4. Mail someone a letter.

5. Make s'mores.

6. Watch the Olympics.

7. Make a list of five big things you want to accomplish before 2017. There are five months left in this year, let's make them count.

8. Copycat your favorite Starbucks drink at home.

9. Try Yoga.

10. Make lemonade.

11. Have a backyard fire. If you live in an apartment, borrow someone else's backyard!

12. Clean out your closet.

13. Make homemade donuts.

14. Replace on of your daily cups on coffee with tea. Just one!

15. Journal more in August.

16. Start looking at coupons and deals that places you might shop for Christmas presents have. I know it's crazy early, but some places (Like Shutterfly) have monthly deals that give you free things.

17. Have your coffee outside and watch the sunrise.

18. Plan an at-home date night. Put some thought into it! Buy a nicer bottle of wine, cook something delicious, and rent a movie.

19. Make peach cobbler, or blueberry pie, or some other summer fruit dessert.

20. Read a book you know nothing about.

21. Bake a cake from scratch.

22. Watch the Gilmore Girls mini-series trailer approximately ten thousand times. If you've never watched the show, now is the time! PS: If you think I won't rewatch the entire series by November 25th, YOU DON'T KNOW ME

23. Eat sno-cones.

24. Do something you had planned on doing this summer, but haven't gotten around to yet.

25. Check out too many books from the library and spend a night reading instead of watching TV.

26. Go back-to-school shopping. It doesn't matter if you aren't actually going back to school, it matters that you take advantage of all the cute office supplies.

27. Go a whole day with no to-do list. Take a vacation if necessary, but give yourself a little break!

28. Get out in the sunshine and soak up summer while it's still here.

29. Buy your favorite ice cream toppings to keep at home. Why is it that I cover my frozen yogurt in gummy bears and captain crunch when I buy it somewhere, but eat it plain at home?

30. Take more unstaged pictures. The best kind!

31. Take time to live slower. Summer can be so busy. Take time to slow things down. Enjoy your coffee, don't rush through dinner, take a longer shower, read a book. Enjoy August to the fullest by stretching it out.

Spending Your August: A To-Do List for Adventuring Through the Month.

Happy August! Let me just be redundant for a second and ask HOW is it already August?! We're quickly approaching my favorite part of the year!

There are 31 days in August, and you get to decide how to spend them. Of course, I have some suggestions.

1. Go see Paper Towns!

2. Pick one area of your house and make it perfect. We get so caught up with all we want in our perfect dream house that we can get overwhelmed with how expensive everything is. But that doesn't mean you can't change anything! Pick one area--the bathroom or your desk or the kitchen--and make it perfect. Organize and buy pretty things and hang pictures and just make it perfect.

3. Make a coke float. Or an ice cream sundae, or something you haven't had in awhile.

4. Click here and remember how much you miss Friday Night Lights. And then give them all your money because you definitely need all of these things.

5. Remove one stressful thing from your life. Whether it be a messy drawer or a toxic friendship, get rid of it.

6. Write your significant other a love note, just because.

7. Go to Party City and buy whatever decorations/props are in the clearance section, and throw a dinner party based on those. Cinco de Mayo in August? Why not!

8. Make a playlist of all your favorite songs from high school.

9. Get a planner! If summer is the season of laid back, fall is the season of getting organized. Even if you're not going back to school, you need a planner. I have this one and this one and they are magical.

10. Order something you've never tried at your favorite restaurant.

11. Watch the Pretty Little Liars finale and find out who A is. Except JK, because they're never going to answer this.

12. Work on viewing Mondays differently.

13. Forgive someone. Whether it's a grudge you've been holding for years or just someone who cut you off in traffic, forgiving someone and letting it go just feels good.

14. Give yourself a break and just eat cereal for dinner.

15. Reread a favorite book.

16. Start a wanderlust Pinterest board. Plan your dream vacation!

17. Go see a morning movie. Safe yourself some money!

18. Make lemonade.

19. Spend an hour dreaming. Whether it's looking at job openings or new towns or just spending an hour working on a project, dream a little bit.

20. Invest in a good self-tannerFall is coming and so is your pasty white skin.

21. Make dinner with only what you already have.

22. Get rid of five things you don't need.

23. Every time you go to Target, browse the dollar section for potential Christmas gifts. Seriously--I got so many good gifts for $3 and under last year! Start looking now!

24. Spend an afternoon by the pool. Enjoy the remaining warm weather.

25. Go on a fro-yo date. Because eating a bow full of gummy bears and captain crunch is only bad if it's on top of ice cream. Yogurt is totally healthy.

26. Buy some new lipstick

27. Listen to Serial.

28. Get a crockpotMine has been saving my life this month.

29. Go school supply shopping. The fact that you're not going back to school is not important.

30. Buy fresh flowers at the grocery store. Just because.

31. Get a new journal. Changing seasons (we all know I start celebrating fall in September, because duh) deserve new journals.
