A Cup of Coffee and A Blank Page.

Most anything I write ends up in some sort of digital format. Blog posts and poems and stories and ideas...they all end up either displayed on the internet or living in a Word document on my computer. But almost everything is written down in a notebook first. Good old-fashioned pen and paper just inspire me in a way that a glowing screen can't quite do.

There are few things I love more than having a quiet moment with a cup of coffee and a blank page. Cozying up with a warm mug and looking at a story that hasn't been told yet, a to-do list that hasn't been planned, a blog post that has yet to be written. Blank pages hold so much promise because you can fill them with whatever you want. They hold the potential of every single word that has ever lived inside of you.

A jolt of caffeine and a blank page make me feel refreshed. Like I can do anything.

I hope today is a cup of coffee and a blank page for you. That instead of begrudgingly making your way through the day, you see it for the wealth of promise and potential that it is. That you feel electrified and inspired and know that you can do just about anything.

Mondays get a bad rep. 

It's true--the day that takes away free time and not having to set an alarm probably isn't anyone's favorite. But I've started liking Mondays more and more lately. 

Mondays are a fresh start. They're the beginning of a brand new week. They're full of potential and ideas and dreams, if you want them to be.

So yes, you may have to wake up earlier than you would like. You may have to go to a job that you spent the last two days trying to forget about. But you're alive, and you've got a brand new week to do whatever you want with. And that's just exciting. 

Pour yourself an extra cup of coffee or two, and take on this week. It's gonna be a good one.

Happy to Be Alive, Because: Cinco de Mayo & Dogs Reading.

1.  Christopher takes his board exams tomorrow.  Which means the six weeks of crazy intense studying is over and I can actually hang out with my husband again. Movie nights!  Date nights!  I'M SO EXCITED.

2. Megan put this picture on instagram yesterday.  That's her horse dog reading my book.  He liked it, duh.

3.  It's MAY!  Which means it is officially summertime in my heart.  And no matter how far removed I am from having a summer break, there's just something about summer that's more laid back and relaxed than the rest of the year.

PS:  Happy Cinco de Mayo!

4.  My book is finally available on Kindle!  Some of you have email me about that, I'm sorry it took so long to get everything worked out!

5.  Yesterday was a craft day and I added some bun wraps to my shop.   Also known as, this is what my hair will look like for the rest of the summer.

I know it's a few days late, but the Pretty Lovely Littles February collection is ready, and it's safe to say I'm just the slightest bit obsessed.

I think it's pretty obvious that I was inspired by a certain holiday coming up, but really, how could you not be?  It's the month of love..also known as the only month where you can cover your house in pink and glitter and your husband can't really say anything about it, because hello...you're celebrating a holiday.  I tried to make things that I thought would be perfect for Valentine's Day, but perfect for after Valentine's day, too.  Enjoy!
