Happy to be Alive, Because: 3 Day Weekends & Pumpkin Season.

1. I mean, It's a three-day weekend. Those are always extremely welcome.

2. I had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season this week! My husband dropped me off at a store and told me to buy clothes and then waited in line for 30 minutes at starbucks. So he wins all of the awards, ever.

3. Gatsby's birthday was yesterday. We bought him a new toy and sang him happy birthday like twelve times. Totally normal.

4. I'm taking my first ever barre class today! I'm kind of terrified but also super excited. I've been told you won't be able to walk after your first class, but that doesn't really interfere with my plans to park it by the pool all weekend.

5. It's the last weekend of summer. Unofficially, but still. I always start fall on the first week of September. And don't give me the "but it's still summer, it's still so warm" business, because I live in Florida and it's going to be pool weather until Christmas. And I would like to have fall before then.

So cheers to sending summer off with a bang this weekend! And then moving on to pumpkin everything.

What made you happy to be alive this week?

  3. Hooray for a 3 day weekend! I'm with you on starting fall after this weekend-- it just seems appropriate even if it isn't the official date. I'm excited to hear how you like the barre class- I've wanted to try forever but never get around to it!

  4. I wish I could get into the "Fall mood"! It's so hot here in Austin and we don't really have a Fall... so it goes from extremely hot to coldish. I do love Pumkin Spice latte's however... maybe an iced one for me until it gets cooler. Cute puppy btw!

  9. What a sweet husband! If you find another one, send him my way! How cute is the name Gatsby! What part of Florida do y'all live in? We live in North Florida. I don't find too many other bloggers who live here.

  17. I love barre class!! I go to The Bar Method 3-4 times a week and love it. And up until I started I had NEVER and I mean NEVER exercised before. The first time was rough (I had to lie on the floor and try not to die in the middle of class) but I survived. I'm sure your first experience will be much better. I was massively out of shape.

  18. Happy birthday to your pup! Our's will be 1 in November, and I'm kind of thinking crazy-dog-lady style birthday party shenanigans will ensue. There's apparently even a cake recipe that's fairly edible for both dogs and humans... Not sure I'll go that far, BUT I did read that you can simple, cheap agility sets (like the ones in dog shows) that dogs really enjoy playing with. Are you feeling the crazy? Because it's totally happening. lol
    Hope to see you around!

  31. Happy birthday to Gatsby! And that's a totally normal way to celebrate. :) A friend of mine was mad at me once because I didn't want to go out on my pup's birthday. And it's not like it was a special occasion or anything; she just wanted to go out.
