1. Tomorrow is moving day! While this means that today will be crazy, I'm so looking forward to waking up in our new home on Sunday.
2. I mailed out 58 of my books to reviewers this week! The blog tour for my book is starting in two weeks...this means that 58 book bloggers I have never met will read and post about my book. This is both insanely terrifying and thrilling, and I'm so excited to see what they think!
3. I made these headbands for my shop and asked Chris to take pictures of me so I could list them. He was actually really good at it and I got to laugh a lot while listening to someone say I was pretty. Hello, win-win.
4. I'm working really hard on being okay with the fact that not everyone is going to like me. This has a lot to do with the fact that I just sent 58 copies of my book to strangers. To them, it will be 304 pages of words. To me, it is 304 pages of three years filled with dreams and emotions and time and tears. I'm working on being okay with the realization that there are going to be people who just don't like my book. I was looking on pinterest (because duh, where else else do you turn when you're trying to learn a big life lesson?) and saw a quote I've heard so many times:
I'm pretty sure it's going to be a lifelong journey, but I'm going to try to remember this every are of my life. Way easier said than done.
5. Let us end on a wonderful note...it's a three-day weekend. I wish you immense amounts of pool time with way too much sunshine and guacamole.
Why are you happy to be alive this week?

The felt flower headband & the photos turned out great- though I have to admit, the floral bun wrap is now on my radar ;) So exciting to have your book sent out for reviews! And I hope your move goes well and you can enjoy the long weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! How amazing that you have a book! Definitely going to be following along and would love to read your book! I absolutely love writing and have written several drafts that I can never quite finish, but that's my goal for this year. Kudos to you! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of your huge dream and accomplishment! It takes courage to put yourself out there, and you're doing it. PS: that boho bun wrap is ridiculously cute. I spy a purchase in the future!
ReplyDelete58 books to be reviewed?! Ooh la la how exciting! Have a fabulous weekend, loving your pretty new flower crowns!!!
ReplyDeleteOnce you have #4 down, life is a dream.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I think one of the hardest things about being a writer is being open to feedback. Your work is just so personal and you spend hours pouring yourself into every word trying to make sure it's perfect. Now, some people will be jerks just to be jerks to you. But I really think other times if someone gives you feedback it's because they only want to make you better.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

I just found your blog and I am in love! It is awesome that you wrote your own book!! I look forward to reading more.
ReplyDeleteBusy girl! Love moving day (honestly)! You get to wake up to a blank slate and start all over in your new home. And congrats on the book! Thats exciting!
ReplyDeleteHappy To Be Alive, Because sounds incredible and that's amazing that you wrote a book! I just added it to my Goodreads to-read shelf. I'm planning to order one of those flower headbands very soon, too. They're so adorable :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cover, hope its well received
ReplyDeleteI'm a people pleaser so I definitely struggle with #4 too, it's really brave of you to put yourself out there and go after what you want - congratulations on the new place and getting your book out!
ReplyDelete#2 is AMAZING. I hope to be there one day. #4...yeah, the part I am already dreading if I do ever get published. It is scary to be that vulnerable. A book is so personal! And not everyone could do what you are doing. You are so brave. I think only good things will come of it. I bet when the reviews do come out, you will be pleasantly surprised. Anyway, I'm impressed. :) Also, I would love to read it.
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing accomplishment! You should feel proud of yourself for chasing your dreams no matter the outcome. I will pray for good reviews! And just remember not to take criticism personally. Everyone has their own tastes, just like your quote above. You can't be for everyone and that does not make your worth any less!
ReplyDeleteWhat a completely awesome feature! And what a great title for a book, too! Congratulations on being a published author! That is completely amazing.
ReplyDelete58 books! So exciting!! I still need to get it myself :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the best. How exciting for you!! Love the pics:)
ReplyDeleteI don't comment often, but I thought today would be a good day to tell you your blog is lovely, and I enjoy reading every post. I hope all the bloggers love your book and that the move is going smoothly!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I have to tell you- I love visiting your blog. You radiate joy, positivity and sweetness - through your words and sharing your thoughts with all of us. Thank you!!!! Secondly, I have not finished your book yet (I am a slow reader with not enough time, I tell ya!) but I *love* what I have read so far. And that's the truth. So you have at least ONE reader (and I'm sure many more) who is enjoying your book! So excited for your tour, Chelsea!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your book. Love. Just found this blog and started following!
ReplyDeleteI am going to be checking out your new book. I like you shop it is full of cute items. I want quite a few of them.
