But I believe there is one thing that you were meant to do. One thing that will make you insanely, exhuberantly happy. One thing that you were so obviously created to do, that it simply feels like breathing. One thing that makes you honest to goodness come alive.
That's what writing is for me. What is it for you?
Whatever it is, I hope you choose to do it. Whether you can make a career out of it or not. Whether it makes sense to other people or not. You deserve to do what makes you come alive.
Writing is my one thing. So, my beautiful friends...what's your one thing?
Ps: I'm looking for a few bloggers to review my March mystery package! If you're interested, let me know!

Fitness is my thing and I'm totally considering making a career out of it! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteChelsea, I think writing is my thing too, though it's hard to believe since I procrastinate doing it so much! Working with yarn has become my new calling--I just can't stop learning how to use it!
ReplyDeleteWriting is my passion - always has been, always will be. I write for a living, but I hope to write novels someday, too. I find it endlessly cathartic :)
ReplyDeleteI think for me, it's teaching, which is something I am so thankful to be doing full-time right now. I am so passionate about the little lives entrusted to my care and you're exactly right - it just feels as natural as breathing :)
ReplyDeletePS - I'd be happy to review your March mystery package :) The items in your shop are gorgeous!
Writing is definitely that thing for me. It makes me happy, it's there for me when I'm excited and happy and it's also there for me when I'm having a rough time. It's cathartic and even if I can't do it on a professional level, I still would never give it up.
ReplyDeleteI have never been able to answer this question. So many things make me happy and complete that I cannot pick just one :). There is a thread that ties them all together, however, and that IS writing. But the degree to which I procrastinate (by way of "writing rituals"), tells me that it does not come as easy as I'd like to think it does ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have found your one thing, I feel like most people search high and low their whole lives to find theirs. I think writing could be mine, but life gets so busy with a 9 to 5 job that its hard to hunker down a be inspired daily. I do what I can and love it when I do. :)
ReplyDeleteEditing is my thing! :) Well, that and making cookies, as previously discussed.
ReplyDeletep.s. to your p.s. I'll review your mystery box if you're still needing people!
I may not be the best writer, but I love to do it! It's calming. Sometimes I feel like I am missing something though! I haven't quite placed my finger on it though. Ugh! Ha! I would love to do a review of your package, but I am private now! I don't know if you would want that or not!? I have about 30 or more that follow me now. There's always IG & Twitter!
ReplyDeleteI love love love this post! I think a lot of it is because I can definitely relate to you here. I feel like writing is my air and my heartbeat as well. There is something so magical about taking words and creating something beautiful with them. And as Pamela said, it is such a stress-reliever. Yeah, writing will always be my first love lol
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly the same way about writing. That's why I started following your blog. I figured, this is a girl I can understand :)

Writing for me helps get the crazy out of my head and onto paper. It helps me think a little more clearly!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your theory completely. And I can see why you love to write...you are definitely talented. For me....I love photography. I love love love capturing life.
ReplyDeleteWriting is totally it for me. Especially with music. No matter what I do, it always goes pack to that. Majored in psychology, and I still take creative writing classes... I love how people can find something that they just really love, and not even because they're good at it, just because it brings them joy. It's totally cool.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you need a reviewer, count me in!
I think that writing is "it" for me, as well. I don't think I'm more myself than I am when I'm with my words and my thoughts and a blank space to express them on!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have found your niche and are happy doing it. I wish that for everyone I meet and think we all should invest and make time for what we love!
ReplyDeleteWriting is such a good release! So glad I found your blog! New follower!

Writing is my thing. It's the one constant that has been with me throughout my whole life. Although I have to admit that I have had plenty of superfun detours along the way and, although I'm trying to really focus on writing, there's a little teeny part of me that's not totally opposed to another detour. :)
ReplyDeleteBaking or cooking and giving back is my thing. It makes me the happiest. Glad you found your thing too.
ReplyDeleteCan blogging be my thing? I just feel so happy connecting with others, sharing my ideas and inspiration and using my little platform to spread messages about the world. I love it!
ReplyDeleteHelping people is my thing and that comes in various forms. I also have a soft spot for foreign kids and hope to go overseas and work with them again. =)
ReplyDeletelike you, writing is my thing too, and loving on children! :)
ReplyDeleteI feel writing is also my thing (as is reading, love love love!) I feel so fortunate to have found the thing I love so dearly and do so well, it is rarer than imagined. xo
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that you know exactly what makes your heart happy! (And I would love to do a review if you're still looking for bloggers)
ReplyDeleteI love writing too! Which is why I started blogging, b/c I don't write for a living! There's still that creative/fiction writing side of me that I don't tap into while blogging but it gets the juices flowing, hehe, so to speak. p.s. Also I don't know what a mystery package is but I'm intrigued, how does that typically work?
ReplyDeleteWriting is "my thing" too. I love it. It would feel weird for me to not write every day!
ReplyDeletePhotography. Or maybe food. Or travel. Or better yet - all three. :D
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you! Writing makes me happy, even though half the time I fight it (why?!?!). I would love to know more about your book-writing. Have you written about it elsewhere (I apologize if it is in some obvious place. I would look harder if I didn't have to be at work in 13 minutes. :-P)
